How to build a successful marriage

Marriage can be likened to a journey that presents many surprises-some surprises are pleasant while others are painful or bitter.Unforseen surprise can present unexpected obstacles, some of which may seem too great to be overcome. Even at that, so many people make this wonderful journey successfully and happily with only minor troubles and challenges. What do you think that can make marriage to be successful and enjoyable?

Below are tips that can help you to be happy and fulfilled and they’re:

1)Think before you speak-Couples may always argue over any little issue. Always wait before responding to something that has made you angry. Once emotions are so high, stop discussing any issue that can easily lead to argument.

2) Give your marriage more time- most people spend huge amount of money, time and effort on their hobbies but when a marriage makes them to feel bad, some will throw up their hands and decide that it’s useless to try anymore. Read books on marriage, conflicts resolution and communication will help your marriage.

3) Give your spouse the respect they deserve- Have you heard the expression”familiarity breeds contempt?” The bitter truth is that people tend to treat their spouses worse than they treat strangers. Retrain yourself to give your spouse the utmost respect.

4) Compliment your partner at least once every day- When you praises your partner over any little effort, they will strive to do more in order to receive more compliments from you.

5)Work hard with your partner to create financial security- One of the merits of marriage is because it gives room for joint economic venture. As your financial security builds up, it be one of the things that let you feel good about each other and the world.

6) Don’t deprive your spouse their right over your body-Sex plays a crucial role in marriage. So don’t refuse your spouse except when you are praying and fasting and after that come together so that the devil will not come in due to the gap.

6) Be faithful-Cheating have killed so many marriages. So be faithful to your spouse.

7) Avoid third party-Learn to communicate effectively with your spouse. If you have conflicts, try and resolve it without involving third party.Third party can give some advice and opinions which may be detrimental to your marriage. Learn to forgive each other without involving any other person.

Finally, always keep each other informed about activities you are engaged in, including your work days and what you do at home. Also, learn to give your spouse a treat occasionally. Just do things your spouse likes without being asked, it can be a place your spouse likes to go or maybe a favorite food. Be guided by the word of God and pray without season.
